The librarian gave them to me as they hadn't been checked out in years. "Dune Messiah" was serialized in that batch.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Later, I got them to subscribe to F&amp;SF.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;Around that time I started buying Analog in the stores (edited by Bova). I still recall reading the first "Callahan's" tale that they printed in those pages. "The Forever War" serialized. Bob Buckley's great tales about Mars after the Mariner 10 and Viking missions. I'll certainly keep an eye out for this.&lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I haven't really had the experience of reading stories in magazines first and am really bad about not picking up Asimov's mag and Fantasy and Science Fiction mag.  I really should support those publications more.  &lt;BR/&gt;&lt;BR/&gt;I can certainly understand the experience that you are relating in regards to discovering those stories through their magazine release first.
